We Have Our Eye On... Wild Medicine at NYBGPosted June 14 2013
We’re well aware of the psychological benefits of having plants in the home (improving mood, reducing stress…), but here’s your chance to learn more about the direct physiological benefits they provide at the New York Botanical Garden’s new exhibit, “Wild Medicine: Healing Plants Around the World.” (May 18 - Sept 8 2013)
The show displays over 500 medicinal plants used throughout history, in many different cultures. There are even workshops for learning how to grow healing herbs, and making vinegars and teas. And to top it off, they have a garden filled with giant sculptures inspired by Italian Renaissance artist Giuseppe Acrimboldo’s anthropomorphic nature paintings.
